On the Rocks

I went on a drinking binge today . . . of water, that is.
I took most of it straight on the rocks from the door of my refrigerator.  I’ve lost count how many ounces.  For variety’s sake, I’ve added flavoring a few times to my purified H-two-O (where is the subscript tool on Word 2010, anyway?):  orange Innergize (a vitamin C sports beverage powder).  And I did not neglect my daily two-cup quota of coffee with creamer.  In a while I might dunk an herbal tea bag.  It’s a good thing that mixed water drinks don’t upset my system, though I do feel a little groggy from the Benadryl I swallowed earlier.
Besides the water on the rocks, though, I’ve also taken in water from the Rock.  I’m reading one of those limited time offer free books on my Kindle:  Unconditional?:  The Call of Jesus to Radical Forgiveness by Brian Zahnd.  Drinking deeply of this spiritual nourishment is rehydrating my spirit and reminding me to never let myself shrivel up into the bitterness of revenge.  God’s model of forgiveness—Jesus—calls His followers to a life of mercy.
But right now I’m ready for refills:  more ice, more water, more Word.
